Preheat.

Although not quite cold enough for me to consider putting on winter tyres on the Leaf, it is cooler in the mornings.

So the climate control timer and its App control are now seeing daily use. Getting into a warm car with 100% capacity is a significant boost to range as well as comfort. Both the timer and remote power up the heated seats if they are switched on.

Originally electronically heated seats were marketed as a safety option on Saab.   Because a stiff back and neck meant you couldn’t look about properly and reaction times were slowed in the cold. Cadillac did have crude heated seats earlier, though they seem to have been almost a secondary cabin heater, controlled by the coolant temperature.

At the cinema tonight it made a difference coming out to a still warm car with no condensation on the windows. Looking forward to see how it copes with the frost.
