Electric Day

Today’s morning commute was in a monsoon.   The Leaf has a flaw in its ventilation system design that means in heavy rain it almost always steams up.  Easily remedied with demist mode, but that does result in greater battery drain.   So the morning run used about 20% more power than usual.
But the views were spectacular.   Several lightning strikes within a couple of hundred metres of the car.   Given the extra load  I’d let the battery drop below 50%, so I let it have a day on the EVSE.  Between 10 and 16:30 the battery recovered to 99%.
Go and have a look at the lightning strikes on the monitor site.
