First real drove in the Leaf in heavy rain. Unsurprisingly noise is higher, same as any vehicle, with an unusual saw tooth effect in standing water. Not loud, but distinctive. My thought is that the quietness of the Leaf simply let’s me hear sounds normally lost in an ICE vehicle.
LED headlights perform very well in the rain. I’ve been used to HIDs for years and find the contrast and sharpness with the LED lamps significantly better.
Tomorrow beings a trip to Stirling before heading to Edinburgh. Plugshare route planning indicates a trip of about 92 miles all in. However there’s a going 40 miles of motorway involved, so range will suffer. I’d like to see if one charge will do the full journey. After the motorway cruise I’ll have a fair idea of whether or not I’ll trickle the battery in the afternoon.
